On the left, the concave parts of each figure transform into convex parts, maintaining the pattern of straight lines = straight lines, curves = curves, straight lines-curves = straight lines-curves; on the right, not all figures undergo the same transformation process (convex -> concave); some undergo it partially; those that undergo it completely break the previous rule of preserving straight lines, curves, and/or both.
