CORE FS renormed

• CORE FS has been renormed for the first time since its release, and scoring has moved to full IRT scoring system.
• Existing CORE FS results have been rescored on the new system. Most scores went up, by a little over one SS on average. 72% are unchanged or within one SS, and 98% are within two SS.
• The eight floor items added previously have been analyzed. After pruning, five were kept and now count towards your score, so the test contains up to 25 items (up from the original 20).
• Since these items should be very easy, test-taking time should be (relatively) unaffected.
• A discontinue rule has also been added in order to improve test-taking time and morale.

ATAT recalibration

• ATAT has been recalibrated using data from over 1,000 completed attempts.
• More items now count towards your score, and the score norms have been updated.
• We aim to refine the test further as more attempts come in.

New floor items for CORE Figure Sets

• Eight new easier items have been added to CORE Figure Sets to expand the lower range of the test.
• The new items appear at the start of the test and do not count towards your score for now.
• Once enough data has been collected, the items will be analyzed, the best ones will be kept, and the test will be renormed.

The CognitiveMetrics Forum launch

• The new Forum is open, with various topics surrounding psychometrics. Related topics beyond intelligence are welcome too.
• Each member has a profile with an activity history, XP, and a trust level that rises as you participate. Badges and custom titles may be awarded too.
• Please read the forum rules before posting, and set a name and username in Settings to take part.
• We're open to feedback, so please report any bugs you find or share ideas for improvements.

APT and CAT interface updates, CAT rescoring and APT dashboard fix

• The CAT scoring system has been improved to correctly handle more edge-case answers. All previous CAT attempts have been rescored, so your dashboard now shows your most up-to-date result.
• During this update, the APT dashboard briefly had a bug that marked matrix reasoning items as incorrect, which lowered displayed scores. This has been fixed, and affected scores have been restored.

Dashboard redesigned and Reaction Time dashboard added

• The main dashboard has been redesigned to make room for the many tests added over the years and the broad range of topics they now cover.
• A new Reaction Time dashboard has been implemented, which covers both the Simple and Choice reaction time benchmarks along with detailed statistics.

Relational Processing benchmark added

• A new Relational Processing benchmark is now available with three modes: Figural, Arrow, and A/B.
• If you take it while signed in, your scores are saved and viewable in a dedicated benchmark dashboard.

CORE Comprehension moved to a new scoring model

• CORE Comprehension responses are now scored by JEV instead of Claude.
• JEV is cheaper and faster than Claude was, with basically no loss in accuracy.
• A bug during rescoring briefly inflated scores for some early test takers. They took the 35-question norming edition and were scored on all 35 questions instead of only the final 26. This has been fixed, and their scores are back to normal.

Army Alpha renormed

• The Army Alpha has been renormed, and existing results have been rescored on the new norms.
• These norms are based on only a few hundred attempts, so they will be redone again in the future once more attempts have been collected.

ATAT moved into the adaptive engine

• Enough attempts were collected on the ATAT Norming Edition to calculate 2PL IRT parameters, and ATAT has now moved into the adaptive engine.
• Poor items were flagged and/or removed. The test will continue to be revised and new items introduced over time to fill gaps in coverage.
• Scores have been properly normed and are now visible in the dashboard. ATAT theta scores showed strong convergent validity with CORE PRI scores (r = 0.787, rising to r = 0.821 after correcting for indirect range restriction), and normative alignment was similarly strong.
• The test and its norms will continue to be updated as more attempts come in.

1926 SAT renormed

• All nine 1926 SAT subtests (DF, AR, CL, AL, AN, NS, AG, LI, PR) have been renormed, and existing results have been rescored on the new norms.
• The formula used to calculate the FSIQ, Verbal (V), and Math (M) composites has also been updated to be more accurate.

Army Alpha added

• The Army Alpha, a 1917 World War 1 intelligence test, is now available as a revised hybrid form spanning eight subtests: Following Directions, Arithmetic Problems, Practical Judgment, Synonym/Antonym, Disarranged Sentences, Number Series Completion, Analogies, and Information.
• All eight subtests are automated and fully integrated with the dashboard.
• Current norms are preliminary; a renorm will follow as more data is collected.

ATAT - Norming Edition added

• The Abstract Thinking Adaptive Test (ATAT) Norming Edition is now available, a culture-fair reasoning test covering six item types across two equivalent forms, A and B.
• The two forms are used to collect norming data. Once norming is complete, ATAT will become a fully adaptive test.
• Norms are preliminary and will change throughout test development, and ATAT is not yet included in the overall dashboard score.

• CORE AG has been renormed, and scoring has moved from a hybrid IRT approach to a full IRT scoring.
• Existing CORE AG results have been rescored on the new system. Most scores (82%) are unchanged or within one SS.
• Twelve new floor items had been added to the test previously to round out the lower end and improve accuracy. These items are now finalized and after pruning, the test will contain up to 34 items (up from the original 26).
• Since these items should be very easy, test-taking time should be (relatively) unaffected.
• A discontinue rule has also been added in order to improve test-taking time and morale.

• The Divergent Association Task (DAT), a quick, validated measure of verbal creativity, is now available.
