About This Test
The Verbal Intelligence Scale for Adults (VISA) is a battery of subtests designed by u/Training-Day5651, which aims to assess general verbal intelligence. It aims to provide a highly accurate and comprehensive evaluation of verbal ability by integrating subtests that measure both verbal reasoning and breadth of knowledge.
The test consists of eight distinct verbal subtests that tap into abilities such as recall, general knowledge, abstraction, and more. All subtests contribute to a single composite IQ score (the Verbal Comprehension Index) intended to reflect an individual's overall verbal ability.
All together, the VISA takes 90 minutes to complete. Subtests can be completed independently or in sequence.
External resources such as Google, a dictionary, or AI are not allowed for any part of the test.

Factor analysis was conducted in conjunction with CORE on an n = 938 sample. The below factor structure, model fit, and loadings were calculated. Model fit indices indicate excellent fit: CFI and TLI both exceed 0.95, RMSEA is well below 0.05, and SRMR falls below 0.08. Loadings have been corrected for SLODR.
Keep in mind that the path diagram below doesn't represent the full CFA, only the VISA subtests specifically.
Convergent validity with the GRE indicated strong alignment and a correlation of 0.842 between the two measures after correction for indirect range restriction.
