The Advanced Processing Test (APT) is a 20-minute assessment with 40 questions designed to accurately estimate your intelligence quotient (IQ). The test contains five subtests: analogies, antonyms, quantitative reasoning, arithmetic, and matrix reasoning.
Factor analysis has shown a general intelligence loading of 0.82 with great reliability, meaning the APT is validated as an excellent measure of general cognitive ability.
Decades of research have demonstrated that g, as measured by assessments like the APT, has substantial predictive validity. For example, general intelligence correlates at roughly r ≈ .54 with school grades and r ≈ .51 with overall job performance, rising to r ≈ .58 in the most complex occupations; it also predicts educational attainment (r ≈ .56) and later occupational status (r ≈ .45). High scores on general intelligence tests can reliably predict benefits across various life outcomes, including but not limited to academic achievement, occupational performance, career advancement, life expectancy, and problem-solving capabilities.
The APT therefore offers an accurate, fast, and reliable method for evaluating general intelligence.
It is highly recommended that you manage your time and try your best on each item. It is likely that you do not finish everything, but rest assured that what matters for such an assessment is that you utilize your time efficiently and answer each question to the best of your ability. You are allowed pen and paper for the test, but the use of any other external resources is strictly prohibited, as it will compromise the validity of your score.
After taking this test, we do require a $10.00 payment for your full score profile.
