Answer: The answer is 4 because there are 4 blocks in the figure.
Note that one block is hidden underneath the far back block.
Example 3
Answer: The answer is 4 because there are 4 blocks in the figure.
Note that one block is hidden behind the bottom right block, as the upper right block cannot be floating without support.
Example 4
The above arrangement is not valid because the middle part of the top block is not supported by anything beneath it. Remember, there can be no empty space beneath ANY part of a block. So, an arrangement like this
will never appear on the test.
